(1): Julia OBERTAS / Dmitri PALAMARCHUK (UKR), (2): Julia KARBOVSKAYA / Sergei SLAVNOV (RUS), (3): Julia
OBERTAS / Alexei SOKOLOV (RUS),
Obertas/Slavnov teamed up in spring 2003. Both have competed successfully with other partners. Obertas
competed for the Ukraine until 2000, then she moved to Russia and is now living in St. Petersburg. They have
landed a quadruple twist in competition until the 2005 World Championships but not since the 2005/2006 season.
Slavnov was taken to the ice rink by his grandmother. He switched from singles to pairs at age 16. The couple
switched coaches in fall 2006, going back to their previous coach Ludmila Velikova.
