Varraux started skating at age 8 because she liked jumping. Her brothers Zachary and Geoffrey are also figure
skaters. Varraux has competed in singles at the 2002 US Championships. Pelletier began skating at age 2
because his father plays hockey, his older sister skated, his aunt coached figure skating and many cousins and
uncles played hockey. He also plays ice hockey. He admires the 2002 Olympic Pairs Champion David Pelletier of
Canada, who has the same name. Pelletier quit skating during 11th and 12th  grades to play hockey for his high
school team.
