Jahnke started skating at age 7 because his friends played hockey, and he wanted to learn how to skate. He
admires skaters Paul Wylie (for his artistic abilities) and Brian Boitano (for his technical ability). Jahnke moved to
Colorado Springs in 1999 to train full time. He got married to Tashiana Foreman on June 1, 2002. Jahnke speaks
fluent German.
